Birth Control

Planned Parenthood offers birth control and family planning counseling to help you determine which method is best suited to your personal needs and beliefs. There are many different methods to choose from. Some require a medical appointment and a prescription. Others do not. Call our help line at 1-866-600-6886 for further information or to make an appointment.

Questions to Consider when Choosing a Method of Birth Control
  • Will you remember to use the method?
  • Will you feel comfortable with the method?
  • Do you want a method to protect you for a short time or a long time?
  • Is the method embarrassing to you or your partner?
  • Will you still use the method if it interrupts sex?
  • Are you afraid of the method or its possible side effects?
  • Will it protect you from Sexually Transmitted Infections and HIV?
Remember, condoms are the best protection against Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and HIV. Condoms should be used with other methods of birth control to protect against STIs/HIV.
